
The Impact of Technology on Youth Education, Development, and Pediatric Health (On-Demand)
This training shares the benefits and challenges of technology on youth education, childhood development, and mental health so pediatric health providers will be prepared to support families in fostering healthy technology habits. This training will share the latest research on technology's effects on education and child development, allowing participants to identify and promote healthy technology use and support youth mental health.

The AAFP has reviewed this Strategies for Preventive Health and Chronic Disease in Maternal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Adult Care training and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. The term of approval is for one year. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This live session is approved for 0.75 AAFP Elective credits. Elective credits are available for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants. Attendance at the entire live training and the submission of a post-training evaluation are required to receive credit.

Dr. Avian Tisdale is a Board-certified physician and consultant who brings together expertise in healthcare, business, and law.
For nearly two decades, Dr. Tisdale practiced acute care pediatrics where she also taught scores of residents, students, and healthcare professionals. That experience shaped her ability to connect with people, break down complex problems, and design solutions that work in real-world settings.
Her leadership path includes executive roles at large health systems where she guided organizational growth, improved operations, and advanced quality of care initiatives. As Founder & CEO of DHM Consulting, she partners with organizations and individuals facing multifaceted challenges, drawing on her cross-disciplinary background to deliver practical strategies and effective outcomes.
Her career afforded her esteemed positions such as Division Director for Nemours duPont Hospital for Children in New Jersey where she was directly responsible for leading system wide transformation including digital health record implementation, a formal academic partnership with Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine, and a highly successful quality improvement program. She served as a Clinical Assistant Professor, at Rowan, preparing medical students and physician trainees for the future of healthcare. She was presented with a Proclamation of Service and dedication by her medical staff colleagues for steadfast leadership and compassion. Dr. Tisdale’s expertise earned her the role of Chief Medical Officer for two multi-site federally qualified health systems. In addition to managing departments of up to 200 employees she chaired the Quality and Credentialing committees.
Known as an engaging, and nationally-recognized, speaker and trainer Dr. Tisdale is valued for her ability to turn difficult concepts into better results. She also shares her expertise on physician health and leadership at universities and radio/tv outlets.
She earned her MBA in Finance from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business and completed paralegal studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

Jenny Radesky, MD
Associate Professor of Pediatrics, University of Michigan Medical School
Co-Medical Director, AAP Center of Excellence on Social Media and Youth Mental Health
Dr. Radesky is the David G. Dickinson Collegiate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan Medical School, where she directs the Division of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. Her National Institutes of Health-funded research examines the use of mobile and interactive technology by parents and young children, parent-child relationships, and child social-emotional development. She authored the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) policy statements Media and Young Minds and Digital Advertising to Children and is co-Medical Director of the AAP Center of Excellence on Social Media and Youth Mental Health. She is editor of the developmental behavioral pediatrics textbook Encounters With Children, 5th Edition and serves on the Board of Children, Youth, and Families at the National Academy of Sciences.
